The Materia uses the 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine from Daihatsu's Terios SUV, which develops 103bhp. That's enough power to give it a 0-60mph time of around 12 seconds. L'autovettura è disponibile nella versione berlina, SW e Verso (Monovolume), in 2 allestimenti base e Sol in 3 motorizzazioni benzina (1400 da 97 cv, 1600 da 110 cv e 1800 da 192 cv) e in due motorizzazioni diesel (1400 da 90 cv e 2000 da 116 cv). Guardandola dal di fuori si nota una linea tondeggiante molto ben fatta e molto piacevole con un bel muso dove spicca la calandra con al centro il grande marchio Toyota, incorniciata fra i due grandi fanali anteriori.
